AN ANTI-racism campaign targeting schools is being launched today .

It is hoped that a series of art competitions, organised by Scotland's biggest teaching union in partnership with the charity Show Racism the Red Card, will help schoolchildren explore the issue of racism. The Educational Institute of Scotland is asking pupils to make use of a video and resource pack to produce paintings, poems or films on themes of racial discrimination and promoting tolerance. EIS general secretary Ronnie Smith said: "Sadly, there is a small minority in our country who seek to stir up racial tension and divide our society on ethnic grounds. We cannot allow them to do so and the involvement of all young people is essential in ensuring our multicultural society continues to thrive." BODY HUNT POLICE investigating the possible concealment of a baby's birth will not now be searching a landfill site as part of their inquiries, they said yesterday.
